2004 June

Dear Friends,

I flew into Atlanta on the 11th May for an excursion.  Theresa has been here since April 12 looking after Olivia Rei our seventh grandchild (the new daughter of Jonathan & Jennifer) and her three year old sister, Abigail. She has really enjoyed this time and Jennifer and Jonathan have really appreciated having her.

My checkup at the Veterans Hospital is on June eighth; my heart is filled  with great joy for all the Lord has done for me in recent years. I will give  the results of the test in the next update.

Theresa and I joined Baptist International Missions, Chattanooga, TN, in June 1974; this year is our 30th year with them.  Dr. Don Sisk & Virginia are scheduled to speak in Johannesburg in August at our Missions Conference; we are  looking forward to having them with us at that time.

I would like to request your prayers for Kenny Berriman.  His mother and late father were saved under our ministry some years ago but Kenny has never  been saved and has now been diagnosed with cancer.  I visited with him the day I flew out of Johannesburg and he is not planning on returning to the doctor.  His  mother is very broken over his physical and spiritual condition.

About four weeks ago I picked up a young woman in front of the church who was  very, very ill and took her to the hospital.  In three weeks she was dead with  Aids; presently 1000 a day are dying of this horrific illness.  Pray with us that we will see the salvation of souls as we preach in church, on the street,  witness, and hand out tracts.

We will be returning to South Africa on June 23 but we hope to visit some of you before that time.

Sincerely,

Joel & Theresa Bain
