2004 October

Dear Friends,

The end of the year is fastly approaching and certainly  the Lord is merciful to us. It is by His mercies that we are not  consumed.  The least of His mercies are undeserved beyond any merit of our own.  When we are under the most agonizing sufferings it is far, far less than  we deserve for our sins.  Thank God for His mercies fail not.

We finished our Missions Conference with Dr. Don Sisk in September and it was a blessing to have him and his wife Virginia stay with us  for seven days.  They arrived without their luggage and Theresa and I loaned them our clothes “ they took the matter graciously.  Our people, as well as some of the other churches which visited the Conference, were helped.

Marion & Shirley Price along with  their friends, Pastor Mike & Daphne Holdredge, were here a few days on their  return visit to Malawi; Bro.  Marion & Bro. Mike preached for me on September 19.  We had a really good time of fellowship and enjoyed their company for a few days.  We  have had a good number of visitors in recent days and thank God for all He sends  our way.  We have had to turn some down  simply because we did not have room for them.

When Hurricane Ivan came through the Gulf, Timothy evacuated Regina and the two boys up to Atlanta to Jonathan & Jennifer; Timothy moved to his church (Berean Baptist, Elberta, Alabama).  Upon his return to his mobile home God had  answered prayer and spared their home even though it was surrounded by tall trees (the trailer in front of theirs had a tree to fall right across it); they did experience some water damage.  The Lord hath His way in the whirlwind and  in the storm Nahum 1:3 Last week  they just finished a Missionaries’ Conference at his church and he has shared with us that he has surrendered to the Lord and  knows He has something for him.  His legal matters are not all behind him yet, so help us pray for  him.

Kenny Berriman (cancer) is about the same; continue to pray for him and his mother.

My recent blood work for tumors was negative PRAISE THE LORD!

Theresa continues to battle with menopause and has recently had bronchitis and sinusitis. This week she is having a crown done; she has a low pain tolerance and  suffers where the dentist is concerned.

We appreciate your prayers for us.  God Bless,

Joel and Theresa
